Why This Works

Most LinkedIn outreach tools run scripts in the background — and LinkedIn can spot them. Claude Cowork is different. It's an AI agent that uses your actual browser, reads each profile, and writes genuinely personalised messages. It looks like you because it works like you.

Not a Bot — an Agent

Claude Cowork doesn't inject scripts. It sees your screen, reads profiles, and crafts messages based on what it finds. LinkedIn can't tell the difference because there isn't one.

You Stay in Control

Every message goes through you before it sends. Approve, edit, or skip — Claude waits for your call. It's an assistant, not an autopilot.

$20/Month. That's It.

Claude Pro plus Apify's free tier. No expensive outreach subscriptions, no per-seat pricing, no contracts. Cancel any time.

Workflow 1Simple

Setup & Connect Your Tools

Get Claude Desktop, Apify, and the Chrome extension wired up. One-time setup — takes about 10 minutes.

You need Claude Pro ($20/month) for Cowork mode. Then install the desktop app so Claude can control your browser.

1. Go to claude.ai/pricing and sign up for the Pro plan ($20/month).
   If you already have Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise — you're good.

2. Go to claude.com/download and install the desktop app for Mac or Windows.

3. Open the app and log in with your Claude account.

That's it — Claude Desktop is ready.

The Chrome extension lets Claude see and interact with web pages on your behalf — essential for LinkedIn outreach.

1. Open Google Chrome (required for Cowork browser control).

2. Go to the Chrome Web Store and search for "Claude" or visit:
   https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/claude

3. Click "Add to Chrome" and grant the requested permissions.

The extension enables Claude to see and interact with web pages
on your behalf. This is what makes LinkedIn outreach possible.

Apify is the lead scraping engine. Free tier gives you $5/month in credits — enough for hundreds of leads.

1. Go to apify.com and create a free account.
   You get $5/month in free credits — enough to scrape hundreds of leads.

2. Once logged in, go to Settings → Integrations.

3. Copy your Personal API Token — you'll need it in the next step.

Keep this token safe. You'll paste it into your Claude config file.

This wires Apify's lead scraper directly into Claude so you can scrape leads from inside your AI assistant.

1. Open the Claude Desktop config file on your computer:

   Mac:     ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
   Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json

2. Paste this configuration (replace your_apify_token_here with your actual API token):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "apify": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "@apify/actors-mcp-server",
        "--actors",
        "tropical_quince/apollo-lead-scraper"
      ],
      "env": {
        "APIFY_TOKEN": "your_apify_token_here"
      }
    }
  }
}

3. You need Node.js installed for npx to work.
   Download from nodejs.org (LTS version) if you don't have it.

4. Fully quit and restart Claude Desktop.
   Look for the plug icon confirming the MCP connection is active.

Tip: You can swap in any Apify lead scraper that fits your niche,
or use the Apify MCP Configurator at mcp.apify.com to customise.
Workflow 2Simple

Scrape Your Lead List

Tell Claude who your ideal clients are. It'll pull a targeted lead list with names, titles, companies, and LinkedIn URLs — ready for outreach.

Before you scrape, get clear on exactly who you want to reach. The more specific, the better the leads.

I want to build a targeted lead list for LinkedIn outreach.

My ideal client profile:
- Job titles: [e.g. Marketing Director, Head of Digital, Founder]
- Company size: [e.g. 10-50 employees]
- Industry: [e.g. SaaS, Professional Services, E-commerce]
- Location: [e.g. Plymouth, Devon, UK / or broader]

Before scraping, confirm:
1. Does this profile match the Apollo Lead Scraper filters?
2. How many leads should we pull for a first batch? (recommend 25-50)
3. Any filters I'm missing that would improve lead quality?

Tell Claude to pull your leads using the Apify MCP connection. You'll get a structured list back in seconds.

Use the Apollo Lead Scraper to find [NUMBER] [JOB TITLES]
at [INDUSTRY] companies in [LOCATION] with [COMPANY SIZE] employees.

For each lead, return:
- Full name
- Job title
- Company name
- LinkedIn profile URL
- Company website (if available)

Format as a clean table I can review.
Flag any leads that look particularly strong based on title and company fit.

Not all leads are equal. Get Claude to rank them so you start with the highest-value prospects.

Review the lead list we just scraped.

Rank each lead by outreach priority (High / Medium / Low) based on:
- How closely their title matches our ideal buyer
- Company size and likely need for [YOUR SERVICE]
- Any signals of growth or recent activity

Remove any duplicates or leads with incomplete data.
Give me a final clean list, sorted by priority — highest first.

Launch Your Outreach Campaign

Claude opens Chrome, visits each LinkedIn profile, and crafts personalised connection requests. You approve every message before it sends.

Give Claude the context it needs to write messages that sound like you — not a bot.

I'm about to start LinkedIn outreach using Claude Cowork.

Before we begin, here's my outreach brief:
- My name: [YOUR NAME]
- My business: [ONE SENTENCE about what you do]
- My offer: [What you want to invite them to — e.g. free audit, call, resource]
- Tone: [e.g. friendly and professional, casual, direct]
- What NOT to say: [e.g. no hard sell, no "I noticed you..." clichés]

Connection request style:
- Keep it under 300 characters (LinkedIn limit)
- Reference something specific from their profile or company
- End with a soft CTA — not "let's book a call"
- Sound like a real person, not a template

Confirm you understand the brief before we start outreach.

Point Claude at your lead list and let it work through each profile. It'll ask for your approval before sending anything.

Switch to Cowork mode.

Using the lead list we built, go to each LinkedIn profile
and send a personalised connection request.

For each profile:
1. Visit their LinkedIn page
2. Read their headline, about section, and recent activity
3. Craft a connection request using my outreach brief
4. Show me the message BEFORE sending — wait for my approval

Start with the top 5 highest-priority leads.
After each message, tell me what you personalised and why.

Important: Keep pace natural. No more than 20-25 requests per day.

Once people accept, the real conversation starts. Use this prompt to send a warm follow-up that drives toward your offer.

Check which of my recent connection requests have been accepted.

For each new connection, send a follow-up message:
- Thank them for connecting (briefly — one line max)
- Reference the original reason you reached out
- Share one piece of genuine value (insight, resource, or observation about their business)
- End with a soft question or invitation to [YOUR OFFER]

Tone: helpful, not salesy. Like a colleague sharing something useful.

Show me each message before sending. Start with the most recent acceptances.

Make This Work for You

Start With 5 Leads

Don't blast 50 on day one. Run 5 leads through the full workflow first. Refine your message, then scale.

Keep It Under 25/Day

LinkedIn flags volume, not tools. Stay under 25 connection requests per day and you'll be fine. Quality over quantity.

Your Brief Is Everything

The outreach brief in Prompt #8 shapes every message Claude writes. Spend 10 minutes getting it right — every message after that gets better.

Frequently Asked Questions

Risk is low if you follow natural patterns. Keep connection requests under 20–25 per day, personalise every message, and maintain a healthy acceptance rate. LinkedIn flags volume and repetition — not the tool itself. Claude Cowork operates through your actual browser, so it looks like normal human activity.

Claude Pro is $20/month — that's the minimum tier that includes Cowork mode. Apify's free tier gives you $5/month in credits, which covers hundreds of lead scrapes. No other paid tools needed. Total: $20/month.

Apify can scrape hundreds of profiles per run. For outreach, limit to 20–25 connection requests per day to stay in LinkedIn's safe zone. That's 100–125 new connections per week — more than enough for most pipelines.

Traditional LinkedIn automation runs scripts in the background. Claude Cowork is an AI agent that sees your screen and makes decisions — it adapts to different profile layouts, personalises based on what it reads, and handles edge cases. It's more like having a human assistant than running a bot.

You need to be comfortable copy-pasting a config file and installing a couple of apps. The setup guide walks you through every step. If you can install an app and edit a text file, you can do this.
